I-LINK 2.0

We totally re -drew our I-link suspension system.

New linkages , new point positions, new bigger axles, new Enduro bearings.

Our old I-link system was already an evolution of past versions. We had improve the system year by year for many time and it has been no easy to improve again a good system like the old I-link.

In order to get a significant improve we has been work a lot of time and we have tested many different solutions.

Mde Bikes Stray Allmountain Brashed Frameset Detail15
  • NEW MAIN PIVOT: 15mm NEW ergal pivots (old pivots were 12.7mm)
  • NEW ENDURO BEARINGS: introduce new bigger bearings, especially made by Enduro Bearings on our specification
  • NEW ANTI-SQUAT BEHAVIOR: we incrased little bit the anti-squat curve starting point. The new system still improves the already excellent pedaling behavior of the old one
  • LEVERAGE RATIO: the new system has a progressive compression curve with a range from 2.9 to 2.3. This fit well with both air or coil spring shocks
  • ANTI-RISE: anti-rise curve remain under 100% from the sag position to end of travel, for a neutral effect on the brake forces

I-LINK 2.0 OUR ADVANCE VIRTUAL PIVOT SYSTEM

A very high performance system, very stable when pedaling, maximum efficiency and response in overcoming roughness. Proggressive behavior for an infinite rear travel feeling and for a perfect match also with spring shock absorbers. Totally free by braking forces.

I-link 2.0 a further evolutionary step the ultra-proven suspension system

INTENDED USE

Classification for Bicycle Usage

This category also covers the requirements of categories 1-3. In addition it includes use on very harsh, obstacle-scattered terrain with steep gradients and consequently higher speeds.  This category is not suitable for regular use in bike parks and the “North Shore” sections. Due to frequent stress, these bikes should be inspected after each ride. Full suspension bikes with mid-level travel are typical in this category.

Max rider weight (clothing and protections included): 100 kg

A description of all categories and more information about intended use can be found here.

FAQ

This varies greatly depending on tire make and model, but 29×2.4″ is generally the max you’d want in there. Some 2.5″ tires will be fine as well, but not all. We tested for asample the Maxxis Minion DHf 2 29×2.5.

The Stray is compatible with 27.5x 2.8″ tires (with +14mm dropouts). Also it could fit with the combo 29 front and 27.5 rear with +0.0 dropouts and in this case the max size could fit is 27.5×2.6″

Yes, the frame is delivered with a ISCG 05 tab and you can apply it if you need. The frame has a special interlocking that allow you to fix the tab in the right position. This is fixed by screwing the bottom bracket cap. Without any spacers the BB shell lenght is 71.5mm: so if you don’t use the ISCG Tab you have to put anyway the round spacer (also supplied with the frame) in order to cover the interlock and get the right (73mm) length.

With a proper boost chainring (52mm chainline), the Stray will accept a 36t chainring or smaller.

Our geometry is based on a 150mm 29″ fork with a 51 or 42mm offset. 160mm fork could also fit. We wouldn’t recommend less travel than 140mm, as the BB will get a bit low.

This bike uses semi-integrated headset cups. The upper is 44mm and the lower is 56mm. The SHIS name is ZS 44/28.6 ZS 56/40.

On the Stray 29″ the best fork travel is 150mm. On the Stray 27.5″ the best fork travel is 160mm.

Yes, the frame fit also with 210x50mm shock sizeIt generate 140mm of rear travel

We developed the suspension to work properly with M/M tuning shock. So it is easy to get shock also from other brands too. The shocks we offer with frame are all M/M .

Yes, i is possible you can order the frame just Brushed but take in mind that this finishing doesn’t have any protection and it will spoil very quickly. So we suggest to order the frame Brushed+clear coating

Rider tuned geometry doesn’t includ this possibilty. Normally we do a mass production of rear swingarms and the jig we use for them is a fixed jig. So we can not easy change this dimension. Also seat tube angle can not possible change due it will influence to much the suspension geometry. Take a look at Rider tuned geometry page in order to see which dimension is possible to change.

Rider tuned geometry does not include this possibility. The BB drop modification has an impact on seat tube angle and suspension geometry so we can not change this value.
